Summary Description:
Immediate/general area: Elkton is a small residential community of 59 households. There is one house north of the site; the others are all to the west. There is farmland to the east and south of the site, as can be seen on the accompanying photos. It is a clean, quiet community, with no other major industry. It does include a grain elevator, a bank, a restaurant/bar, a classic car dealer, and a used car dealer. We also have several people who operate part-time businesses out of their homes. There are several lots platted and ready for building homes, with water and sewer provided. There is a good golf course/country club seven miles from the site. Hunting and fishing is abundant in the area, as are camping and hiking areas. Snowmobiling and cross-country skiing are also popular past times. Theaters, concerts, and other cultural and recreational activities are available in Austin and Rochester. |
